Can I use a portable oxygen concentrator in my car?

Yes, most portable oxygen concentrators available on the market today, such as the SeQual Eclipse, the Inogen One and the AirSep Lifestyle and Freestyle are perfect for automobile travel. These Portable Oxygen Concentrators can also be used in a boat or motor caravan. You can use the rechargeable batteries or simply plug the unit into the car's accessory outlet (lighter). The rechargeable batteries will continue to charge whilst connected to the vehicle, thus ensuring a full charge at the next rest stop. Caution, however, must be exercised whilst using a portable oxygen concentrator in a car. Oxygen delivery cannulae and power connection cords must not be allowed to interfere with the driver’s ability to control the vehicle.  The larger portable oxygen concentrators should be safely stowed out of the way, behind the front seat, allowing driver and passengers freedom of movement, yet be safe in the event of sudden sharp braking,  Portable Oxygen Concentrators should not be left unattended in the vehicle in extremes of temperature.
